Your personal health insurance premiums count as a credit or expense on your taxes.
- If you are a family, they count under the Medical Tax Exemption Credit just like any regular medical expense.
- If you own a business, you may be able to deduct the premiums as a non-taxable expense.
For BBD / Green Shield, you get the receipt directly from the on-line system. Here are the instructions:
Premium Confirmation Statements are available for you to access at your convenience, for any time period, through Plan Member Online Services. Once you have logged onto Plan Member Online Services, you will find the statement by selecting:
My Claims >> My Claim Statements >> Premium Confirmation >> You will be prompted for the date range required
